Student GPA Calculator
Work out a weighted grade point average from your courses: enter each course name, letter grade and credit hours, pick the grading scale (4.0, 4.0 with A+, or 4.3), and see the GPA, total credits and quality points update live, plus what grade you would need on a target course to hit a goal GPA. Runs in your browser.
What this tool does
It turns a list of course grades and credit hours into a single weighted grade point average, and shows the working so the number is not a mystery.
How a weighted GPA is calculated
Each course contributes its grade point value multiplied by its credit hours — that product is the course's quality points. The GPA is the sum of quality points divided by the sum of credit hours, so a heavier course moves the average more.
Grading scales
Three are offered. The plain 4.0 scale treats A and A+ alike. The 4.0-with-A+ scale still caps at 4.0 but is explicit about it. The 4.3 scale gives A+ a 4.3 value, which some universities use. Pick the one your institution publishes.
Target-grade planner
Enter a goal GPA and how many more credit hours you have left, and the tool reports the average grade point value you need across those credits to reach the goal — and tells you if the goal is already out of reach or already met.
